Through an open window the moon sits high on a horse of quiet clouds, its light mingling with the intoxicating scent of jasmine creeping up the high green balconies from the walled garden below. Like the Cante Jondo, Lorca’s Moon is of cry of the soul, a ballad of a bitterness that is inseparable from joy, a song of dark instincts and undying passions rooted deep in the heart.
